To all of our wonderful sponsors, participants, supporters, and Social Media fans:

After a very hectic summer including events outside of our control and after much deliberation, we have decided to postpone the 8th Annual 5K Run/Walk/Expo in Honor of Conor scheduled for October 28, 2018. As one of our fellow advocates stated, the Annual 5K Run/Walk/Expo In Honor of Conor is truly one of the “Triple Crown” events in the area of Distracted Driving Awareness. However, in order to maintain the integrity of our event and to be able to continue raising awareness about the dangers of distracted driving we believe  it is best to postpone it to a later date, either in the Spring or next Fall. We will announce the new date or other event as soon as possible. We are also considering an event in April during Distracted Driving Awareness month.

The decision to postpone our run this year was made even more difficult by the fact that our work is not even close to being done!  The number of people killed on our streets keeps rising. Our streets are no safer now than when Conor was tragically killed 8 years ago on October 19, 2010. In fact, it’s worse and these deaths are totally preventable. That is why the Conor Lynch Foundation will continue to raise awareness about the dangers of distracted driving and will continue to be dedicated to working towards safer streets for everyone. In October we will be at Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks for a Distracted Driving Awareness presentation and in Washington DC participating in the Youth Interactive Safety Lab hosted by the National Organization for Youth Safety. We will also have a booth for the foundation at the Sherman Oaks Street Fair where we will continue to promote and message, please come by and say hi! In November we will also travel to New York for the Vision Zero Cities National Conference recognizing World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims.

We appreciate your support and depend upon your donations. In the past we have been able to contribute to groups both locally and nationally to continue to raise awareness  about the dangers of distracted driving and promote the safety of our streets.  Please do not drive INTEXTICATED and if you’d like to support our continued efforts with a donation please click here .

Once again, we thank you for your continued support and look forward to seeing you at our next event once we have scheduled it.

Thank you

from all of us at the Conor Lynch Foundation
